Becoming an estate agent was not Anni Eisele’s initial ambition when she was a young graduate of Social Science in Psychology. However, after having her children in quick succession and finding that she wanted to be a mom and have a career, she joined the property industry. “I put my head down and learnt all that I could learn.”
Full of ambition and that feeling of wanting to do her best, Anni was awarded top agent in her first year and has been top agent many times since then. “That was 38 years ago. I decided to make it my career. I loved it. I still do.”
A career highlight for Anni was joining her son, Brett, and her husband, Warren, in owning an estate agency and becoming a licensee for Seeff, the top brand in the country. For Anni, being a consistently high-performing agent has also been important. It demonstrates their excellent work ethic.
“We want to succeed in business. Now, it is not just about us. We also need to set an example for our agents. We are the licensees and set the pace for the team. They have come to respect us and look up to us and emulate us. Warren and I are both swimmers, so we wake up at 4:30 and start the day with a 1 or 2-km swim. Then, we plan our day and start working and connecting with people.”
People are at the heart of everything and Anni cares about her clients – both the seller and the buyer. She intuitively understands different personalities and how best to relate to them. Over time, many clients have become long-standing friends.
Family is also central. “We’re family-orientated and love spending time together and having fun.” There is such a feeling of family at Seeff Umhlanga that you’ll often hear agents talk about how the team feels like a family and how everyone is warmly welcomed.
After 38 years in the property industry and even longer in Umhlanga, Anni and Warren are household names and are well deserving of the title “real estate icons.”
