REAL ESTATE vs UNIVERSITY

A career in Real Estate might seem like a last resort compared to those going to university. However, when considering the cost of tertiary education, receiving a Bachelor's Degree after 3 years of full-time study, and becoming a Property Practitioner. It truly is a no-brainer. In South Africa, the cost of earning your Bachelor's Degree may vary between R38 500 and R99 500 per year, and that is full-time. Compared to Real Estate, where you can become a fully qualified Property Practitioner within 2 years, with costs varying between R4 000 and R6 000 once off, while you are earning an income.

Now consider the living expenses at university, travel expenses, books, etc. In comparison, you could be building a career while you are studying! This enables you to become independent in a fraction of the time that it would take to graduate from a university. Many Real Estate companies offer incentives in order to support and motivate their interns. They also assist with your Logbook, which tracks your first year in the industry. Not to mention the in-house sales training and having a Mentor / Specialist in the field guide you through the entire process.

In as little as 5 years while working, you could be a qualified Principal Property Practitioner, making you your own boss. Your income is only limited by your efforts and an industry that has no age limit.

Now think: Where do you want to go?
