Fauna Park at a glance

Fauna Park is one of the residential areas you will find in Polokwane. The suburb is known for its animal street names and also for the bigger stands within its borders. Fauna Park borders Flora Park and is one of the oldest Polokwane suburbs. The properties in Fauna Park have well established houses and you can be rest assured that at most of these properties you will find a swimming pool in the back yard.

Schools and Education

There are currently no Primary or High Schools located in Fauna Park. There are two Pre-Schools situated in this area, namely Mickey and Minnie Pre-School and Fauna Park Christian Medium Pre School.

Shopping and Recreation

In Fauna Park you will find Savanah Mall. This mall was finished in 1997 and was a landmark when it opened for Polokwane. Shops housed in Savannah Mall include Checkers, Pick n Pay, Woolworths, Clicks, Dis-Chem and a banking hall. Fauna Park also had the first ever McDonald's fast food that opened in Limpopo during 2000 and you can still visit it today. On the border of Fauna Park, you will find the popular butchery, Vleis Lapa, where you can buy first class meat for a braai. Once every few months, there is a Food Market held in this area where you and your family can spend some time together.

Health and Fitness

There are currently no gyms located in Fauna Park, but the Body Life Gym that is situated in Flora Park is just around the corner.

Netcare Pholoso Hospital is the newest private hospital in Polokwane. There you will find specialists, doctors and many more medical services. There are also a few general practitioners in the area outside the hospital.

Estates and Developments

Because Fauna Park is already a well-established suburb, there are currently no estates in the area but you will find several residential complexes. One of these complexes is Hyde Park which is located just across the road From Savanah Mall.

Business and Work

Fauna Park is not home to any Office Park. The suburb is more residential in nature, but you will find some of your lawyers running their offices from home.
