Geduld, Springs

The suburb of Geduld was established when some of the gold mines closed down in the sixties, and residential villages on the mines were consolidated into the urban area and gradually transformed into suburbs, Geduld Extension was established in 1928 under the names of some South African governors and political leaders were used. Approximately ten years ago the South African Epileptic League (SANEL) took over the single quarters at East Geduld Mine for the establishment of a home for epileptics. High School Johan Jurgens bears the name of Dr. Johan Jurgens, MP for Geduld for almost two decades.
