Kwa-Thema is a suburb South-West of Springs in the Ekurhuleni district of Gauteng and was established in 1951. Today expanding and thriving suburb. Kwa-Thema was named after Selope Thema. Kwa-Thema is a multicultural suburb where most of South Africa's eleven official languages are spoken but the predominant languages are Sotho and Zulu. The Indaba tree is a venue famous for the role it played as a meeting place when Kwa-Thema was first established.
