Welcome to Seeff Hout Bay

Seeff Hout Bay services both the Hout Bay and Llandudno areas, two of the most sought-after neighbourhoods of the Cape metro.
Hout Bay lies in a valley, about twenty kilometres south of the Cape Town CBD. It is renowned for its natural beauty of mountains and valleys and beautiful bay. Hout Bay originated as a wood supplier for construction during the early settlement of the Cape and today remains in demand for its stunning surroundings. It comprises of several suburbs and gated estates offering exclusive homes and offers easy access to the Atlantic Seaboard and CBD to the one side and Southern Suburbs to the other.

It is reached via three scenic routes being Chapman's Peak, an awesome route with breath-taking views, while the route over Suikerbossie Hill to Llandudno and other Atlantic beaches of Cape Town, in the shadow of the Twelve Apostles, are equally inspiring. The road that joins up with the Constantia Wine Route, over Constantia Nek, provides a bird's eye view of False Bay and takes you into the beautiful Constantia Valley.

Hout Bay has retained its fishing village vibe and remains a busy fishing harbour lined with fishing boats which add to the attraction for holiday makers and property buyers. Its long, sandy beach faces a bay framed by mountains and is the setting for many photographs and postcards. Hout Bay provides a broad spectrum of attractions, from hiking and cycling in the surrounding mountains, abseiling, game fishing, the full gamut of aquatic sports, including sea kayaking, sunset champagne cruises to the V&A Waterfront, boat trips to Seal Island in a glass-bottomed boat and the World of Birds mean that one can effectively remain within the 'republic' for one's entire trip without running out of things to do.

Not to forget the beautiful Table Mountain National Park. Hout Bay is a renowned route for hikers and cyclists and offers access to the Table Mountain National Park. Two of the Cape's top sporting events, the Two Oceans Marathon and Cape Town Cycle Tour make their way through the neighbourhood. Another landmark is The Sentinel or Hangberg, a peak marking the western end of the mouth of Hout Bay. It has a sheer cliff dropping towards the sea, and a coastal hiking path is accessible at low tide. It is adjacent to Hout Bay Harbour.

Mariner's Wharf, located alongside the harbour, is a popular destination where you can enjoy fresh seafood and watch the seals frolic in the harbour among the fishing boats. Here, you will find eateries including the well-known landmark, Snoekies. At the Mainstream Shopping Centre, you will find a Woolworths along with many other shops and boutiques. Victoria Road is also lined with local conveniences, shops and services including art galleries, décor and boutique stores, eateries and restaurants. Dotted throughout rest of the neighbourhood, you will find more eateries and restaurants. Hout Bay offers excellent schools including an International School and a new Generations High School.

It is a popular tourist destination with landmarks such as the postcard scenes of the harbour and World of Birds attracting thousands of visitors every year. It is a popular weekend hangout for Capetonians and for holiday makers and boasts a busy holiday and short-term rental market. It is also attractive for holiday houses including "swallow" buyers from the UK and Northern Europe who have second homes in SA to escape to for up to six months of the year during the cold winter months.

Hout Bay is a community who cares about their neighbourhood with an active Neighbourhood Watch and various neighbourhood and security activities. Over the last few years, there has been a steep rise in demand for the Hout Bay lifestyle and with that a rise in property values. We have also seen exciting new development in the area including a landmark development on Chapman's Peak, SACHA offering a first in luxury apartments living here.

The new Kerzner Estate, launched by Mr Sol Kerzner, SA hotel mogul of the One & Only and Sun City fame also brings a whole new level of luxury estate living to Hout Bay.

Neighbouring Llandudno is a luxury suburb, located on the sea side of Victoria Road. It offers spectacular views. It ranks among the top luxury suburbs of the Atlantic Seaboard and country and it is not uncommon for a luxury home with stunning views and a top location to sell for a price in the upper millions. While there is a primary school in Llandudno, there is no commercialisation and only a single access road which is manned by security, making the neighbourhood very desirable. Sandy Bay beach ranks as one of SA's top Blue Flag Beaches. Suikerbossie Restaurant, situated on a hill overlooking Llandudno and offering spectacular views is another attraction in the area.

What is sure, is that the Hout Bay and Llandudno property market remains a strong investment prospect for residential, second home and rental investment buyers.

Seeff Hout Bay & Llandudno office is in the Mainstream Shopping Centre (near Woolworths) and is a landmark in the area for all your property needs, whether you are selling, buying, investing, renting or a landlord.
