This mish-mash of a space is part café, part motorcycle workshop, part studio and venue. Anvl Kraft is a rustic space that can be rented out for functions, but for the majority of their time, they host motorcycle meets and cool events on the hip-and-happening Cape Town scene.

From clothing launches and skateboard showcases to hot rod gatherings and café racer builds, Anvl Kraft is a local hotspot for the underground community. They do have a functioning coffee shop that serves the usual range of coffees.

Bagel & Brew

Bagel & Brew is a brand new coffee shop that serves delicious bagels with a range of classic flavours and daring combinations. The coffee shop also has a harvest table where the freshest locally-sourced ingredients and breads can be purchased.

Bagel & Brew is a natural space with a lot of wooden furniture and finishings. The large glass windows allow a lot of light into the café and offer patrons a great people-watching experience as Salt River bustles outside.

Bagel fillings come in all varieties, but we’d recommend the chicken mayo, rocket and avo bagel (called The Joshie). The coffee shop also serves wraps and salads and is able to cater to vegetarians.

Wash the scrumptious food down with a selection of coffees, smoothies of freshly blended fruit juices. Bagel & Brew is open from 7am to 4pm on Mondays and Tuesdays; 7am to 8pm on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays; 8am to 2pm on Saturdays and they are closed on Sundays. Bootlegger Coffee Company

This fairly new establishment is part of the well-known Bootlegger franchise. Guests can sit inside the vibrant coffee shop and take in the buzzing atmosphere. The coffee shop was designed with an on-the-go lifestyle in mind, offering comfortable leather benches, wooden tables and bar-style stools at which patrons can sit and work.

They serve a great range of cooked breakfasts and light lunches, as well as some tasty sweet treats that are freshly-baked onsite. Bootlegger also has some health meals on offer for the diet-conscious customers.

Besides the delicious coffees, milkshakes and juices, Bootlegger Coffee Co also serves unique brews such as tumeric flat whites or beetroot and cocoa coffees. This café can also make healthy smoothies that will give visitors a much-needed energy boost.

This is the home of Cuban cuisine and Latin American coffee culture in the Southern Suburbs. El Greeyo is a warm and welcoming space that revels in the simpler side of life. Take in the Cuban art and music as you relax with a hot cuppa joe in your hand.

El Greeyo boasts a selection of signature blends and single origin coffees from around the world. The café has roots that stem from the centuries-old Cuban coffee traditions. The roasted beans are available for purchase in various forms, including whole and ground.
