Paarl, luxury new country homes on offer in Wilde Paarde Country Estate

The new Wilde Paarde Country Estate, located just outside Paarl opposite the Boschenmeer Golf Estate, offers spectacular views of the Paarl Simonsberg and Drakenstein Mountains according to Seeff’s agents Chris Boucher and Clive Hartman, who are marketing the estate.

It is named after the Wildepaardejagt River which runs through the southern edge of the estate. The river derives its name from the early settlement of Paarl when the sound of the rocks rolling down the river sounded like wild horses running. The land was granted to Isaac De Villiers and Son in May 1826 and surveyed in 1854.

The 16ha estate offers 118 single residential erven on a plot-and-plan basis with plots ranging from 547sqm to 948sqm. There is a choice of 12 building plans with a choice of houses ranging from 180sqm for three bedrooms to a luxury 490sqm home with five bedrooms. Prices range from R2.55m.

Paarl is one of the most sought-after country towns in the Cape Winelands/Boland region, especially with families who want access to the top class schools being Paarl Boys High (Boishaai) and Paarl Gimnasium which ranks among the top producers of Springbok Rugby players along with the Paarl Girls High and Paarl Gimnasium Girls High and La Rochelle.

It is an excellent commuter town for those working in Cape Town, Franschhoek, Stellenbosch or Worcester and offers a laid-back lifestyle with easy access to the country’s top wine farms. There are excellent amenities in the town including Paarl Mall and Cape Town is close by for everything else.
