SAB’s monthly horse-drawn beer delivery
The cart follows a historical beer route and delivers fresh beer to Barristers and Foresters Arms. At around 1pm, an SAB master brewer unloads a 50 litre keg of Castle Draft to each of the pubs and all patrons present that are drinking Castle will receive a free pint.
The brewery does this to honour the history of the old beer route that dates back to the 19th century, a time when Newlands was renowned for being the brewery capital of the country, with many breweries and dozens of pubs.
If you would like to learn more about the local beer history of the area, Newlands Brewery also holds a 90 minute brewery tour that ends at the local Letterstedt Pub.
