Come and discover the Blue Train - South Africa's only surviving beachfront miniature railway that has been delighting kids in Mouille Point since 1956. Being a well-known realtor in the area, Seeff is shining the spotlight on the highlights of Mouille Point and no list would be complete without introducing the Blue Train Park.
A brief history of the Blue Train
When the train first starting making its way through the park in 1956, the train driver was a man named Johnny Peters, who operated the train for more than 30 years before retiring in 1987. Peters recalled once reprimanding a boy for placing stones on the train track, only to discover that the boy in question was the son of the late President, John Vorster.
Things for the kids to do
The Blue Train Park is not just about the train - there's loads of fun to be had. There's a dirt bike track and a mini skate park as well as a cement push bike track and pedal push carts. Kids can get a mini-adrenaline rush on a 30-metre zip line or enjoy hours of fun on two jungle gyms and slides. There's also an astroturf soccer pitch, rock climbing and an array of other great places to play. The park boasts 10 000 square metres of seaside paradise in which kids can be kids.
