The Luckshack

The Luckshack tabletop gaming stores are some of the best and most popular in Cape Town and for good reason.

The Luckshack is the leading Magic the Gathering singles store in South Africa and they stock trading card game products and paraphernalia for both Magic: The Gathering and Pokémon. The original store was founded and created by Marvin Hsiao out of a passion for Magic: The Gathering and tabletop gaming. It was sold to Gerhard Krause in 2013.

All three stores, in Milnerton, Plumstead and Fish Hoek, host weekly events and tournaments. They are the perfect place to gather with friends to play your favourite game, trade and buy cards and meet fellow geeks.

The thing that sets The Luckshack apart from other local game stores is the strong feeling of community, lack of toxicity and elitist energy. It’s a safe environment for women and children and is open and inclusive to everyone, no matter your skill level, whether you’re just starting out or are a grizzled veteran looking to sling some vintage spells.
