The River House is designed to offer you privacy and space and yet the village of Franschhoek, with is restaurants, wine, art and decor shops, is only a few hundred meters from the gates. It is a an elegant barn-inspired structure with the use of raw, natural elements offset by luxurious woven fabrics. This is where 'you time' was born. A wide green lawn hemmed by olive trees speaks of space designed with symmetry, harmony and privacy in mind.

The space:

Our home is on a small working farm of vines and plums. It was newly built in 2017. It consists of 3 bedrooms en suite downstairs plus another bathroom and upstairs is a Loft room en suite of 100m2 with its own lounge area, ideal for a couple with two children as an ottoman folds down into a double bed. It is totally private and secure and very tranquil. With the sound of the river and the mountains above it is hard to leave. The village is a short walk away where you can get the most delicious coffees and breakfasts and some of the most incredible restaurants. We have two barbeque areas and a large 12 seater table on the patio.

Guest access:

You have access to the private walled garden with a 12m swimming pool (not covered and no safety net fitted). You can walk on the farm but not up to the top where Le Clo de Montagne villas are. The neighbouring farms are happy for you to walk or cycle through and stop for a wine tasting too. You go through the main gate into La Grange de Cabriere and then through another private gate into our property, the security is very good.

It has got 4 bedrooms en suite and another bathroom/guest loo. The upstairs is a 100m2 loft space with its own living area and open plan so more for couples or families as it has two 3/4 beds and an ottoman which folds out into a double bed. It is not for small children as it has a huge swimming pool and it is not fenced. Camp cot and high chair available for children. The security is really good. It is on a small working farm of wine and plums. It has amazing mountain views and the river boundary at the back.

Loft suite with open plan living area. Two 3/4 beds together with a fold out ottoman into a double bed for kids. Fans only but will be installing an aircon at some stage.
