Fynbos valleys - ready for game farming / home steading
This 472 Ha farm is perfectly rigged for someone wanting a fynbos game farm or an off-grid homesteader's lifestyle. It is so secluded that privacy and security is no issue at all.
This farm is situated about 20km from Witsand, 20km from Heidelberg, and 60km from Stilbaai in the Western Cape.
It would make a stunning game farm due to the size of the property, and there is already a game certified camp of about 200 hectares that is ready and rigged to start game farming. The landscape is mostly fynbos running over several valleys and hills. The beautiful scenes of green valleys filled with fynbos flowers, and blue skies are overwhelming.
There is a cozy 2-bedroom rock house with a lounge, kitchen, and 1 bathroom. Next to the house is space for a veggie patch as well as a small single garage and 3 chicken enclosures. Currently, the garage is being used as another chicken coop. It is all equipped with automatic water feeders.
The farm is split into 2 main camps with a servitude running through the middle. The house is in the 288-hectare piece, which is surrounded by beautiful landscapes of fynbos. This section of the farm has areas where one can see the magnificent Duiwenhoks river, and the ocean is visible on the whole southern side of the farm (about 6km).
The rest of the infrastructure is in the 184-hectare section. The owners were planning on building a house here, so they set the farm up to operate on this side. Here is a huge 10x30m greenhouse and about a hectare veggie patch and orchard. Most of it is under irrigation, some automatic. This is fenced off so that the livestock stay out.
There is also a store (6x10m) and several grazing camps to separate sheep, namely 3 x 4-hectare camps, a 1-hectare camp, and a 38-hectare camp.
The 38-hectare camp has a sheep shed and sheep working facilities.
In the 4-hectare camps, there is about 1 hectare under irrigation for growing seasonal grazing like lucerne or oats.
In the 1-hectare camp, there is another sheep shed and handling facilities as well as a huge cattle kraal with a loading ramp that was used for buffalo.
Water is abundant with a strong borehole that fills up 4 x 5000 litre tanks. The borehole is equipped with a solar pump, 8 solar panels and an automatic stop/start system. There is water supply to almost every section of this farm along with automatic filling water cribs for the animals.
There are 2 basic labourer rooms.
If you want to homestead, this farm has almost everything you need, ensuring that you can live self-sustainably. With all this space, you could even think about starting a self-sustainable community or look into eco-tourism for an additional income.
This farm is registered in a company that can be bought over, so there are no transfer fees, and it is a quick, simple transfer of company ownership to the buyer.
