A journey marked by diverse experiences Karen (known as Kari) is a dynamic individual with a rich tapestry of professional and personal adventures.
Kari spent her school years at Durban Girls College before embarking on a year-long hiatus after completing matric, immersing herself in a short Secretarial course, global travel and gaining valuable work experience. Her academic journey continued at the University of Natal in Pietermaritzburg, where she earned a Bachelor of Social Science Degree, followed her LLB law degree.
The global stage beckoned, leading her to London, where she found herself at the esteemed Goldman Sachs Investment Bank, initially as a temp and later within the Office of Global Leadership & Diversity. An interlude in South Africa preceded an exciting chapter in the Seychelles, where Kari and Paul (her now husband) managed a beachfront guesthouse, offering insights into people, planning and both the beauty (and challenges) of remote living.
Returning to South Africa, Kari transitioned to farm life, starting on her husband's family farm in Greytown before settling in Dundee, where they undertook the renovation of a rather dilapidated farmhouse.
A few years later they moved to the other side of Dundee where they continued with the extensive renovation of their new farm and opened their guesthouse in 2010. Settled, they were delighted to welcome their son Andrew in 2012 who has developed a love for country life and enjoys farm adventures with their three dogs – Izzy, Gus and Wallace. Together with Paul, they enjoy welcoming guests from all walks of life, hearing new stories and enjoying hearty chats. The best though is time together.
With an innate love for admin, organisation and a desire to make things easier, Kari joined the Seeff team taking care of Office Admin. Although still a recent addition, Kari is enjoying being part of this wonderful team and having a little glimpse into the world of Real Estate. With a great interest in design and decor, being able to see so many homes and so much creativity just by "doing her job" is a real treat.
As part of the Seeff team, she looks forward to adding value, navigating the intricacies of real estate and embracing the opportunities that lie ahead.
