Gordons Bay Village at a glance

Hugging the shoreline, nestled in the rock face just above, is Historical Old Village where Gordon's Bay's heart started beating, and this is reflected in the properties found here, with spectacular views of the ocean and the original harbour where the first fishermen settled in 1672.

This unique part of Gordon's Bay features quaint bars, restaurants, and shops. It is also home to the famous Bikini Beach Bookshop where you could spend hours unearthing literary gems after which you could grab a coffee at the "On the Go" coffee shop and enjoy the breathtaking view of Gordons Bay Beach.  Taking a stroll along the shore you will find protected Milkwood trees, seen as a national heritage as they are over 100 years old, technically the oldest residents in Old Village.

The police station that was built in 1903 was declared a building of historical, cultural, and aesthetic importance and the post office right next door that was officially opened in 1939  was dubbed "one of the prettiest post offices in the Union - the pride of the people of Gordon's Bay and an object of admiration to visitors from far and near" in 1993 this stunning piece of history was also registered as immovable conservation-worthy properties.

At the most Eastern point of False Bay lies famous Bikini Beach, one of only 6 Blue Flag beaches in South Africa. Part of its popularity is the fact that the water is usually clear, calm, and warm due to the fact that it is wrapped in the arm of the Hottentot's Mountain on the one side, and the old harbour breakwater. Here you will find an uninterrupted view of the entire False Bay all the way to Cape Point.

Standing proudly side by side is the old Harbour and the Naval Officer Training Centre. The Harbour and Yacht marina date back to 1937 when Albertus Brand Faure laid its first brick with a gold coin hidden inside for luck.

Old Village has something for everyone, from Modern Luxury to Historical Grand Dames. The homes here are very diverse and offer anything from 4 bedrooms to 8 bedrooms that can be converted into Airbnb or guesthouses.

Miller Street cuts the Village in half, going up into the mountain prices can range from 4 Million to R8 Million and below, going towards the beachfront, the property could cost you anything between R5 Million to R16 Million and this is often defined by the state of the property and the square footage which could be anything from 300m² to 800m².

Known fondly for many years by holidaymakers as the "Riviera of the Cape" it is clear that Old Village sets itself apart from the rest of Gordon's Bay with its roots still firmly set in the past, transporting you to a simpler time with its quirky little streets, with its spectacular setting and it is no wonder that it is the starting point of the most awe-inspiring 22 km known as Clarence Drive.
