Newlands Cricket Ground

Newlands Cricket Ground is one the most beautiful cricket grounds in the world and the official home ground to the Cape Cobras.

Newlands Cricket Ground, established in 1888, has a rich cricket history that dates all the way back to 1899 when it hosted its first test match, a mere five years after the very first time the sport was played at Lords.

Guided tours are hosted at the stadium where visitors are provided with a behind-the-scenes glimpse of Newlands' history, famous landmarks, the President's suite and a view from the ground from the South Club. Visitors are also welcome to wander around the grass embankments, visit the practice facilities and nets, view the players' dressing room, Memorial scoreboard, third umpire's booth and media centre, and tread gently on the hallowed main field.
